It was indeed one good turn deserves another when the International Breweries PLC, the producers of Hero Lager Beer awarded best performing Market leader who supports Hero Lager Beer to the President general of Ogbaru Main Market, Chief Patrick Ndubuisi Ochiogu.
Recall that no fewer than 50 traders of Ogbaru Main Market, popularly know as Relief Market near Onitsha, Anambra State graduated from Hero apprenticeship scheme after completing workshop training which anchored by Professors from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in collaboration with Onitsha Business School and purely sponsored by Hero Lager Beer.
Presenting the award shortly after receiption ceremony which held at Ogbaru Main Market, the Marketing manager of Hero Lager, Mr. Dubem Orji said that Chief Ochiogu deserves to be honored based on his tremendous achievements in the Market and unalloyed support he give to Hero Lager.
He also described the award as a motivation and encouragement to Ochiogu to continue performing more.
Appreciating the award, Chief Ochiogu expressed gratitude to Hero Lager, even as he glorified God, stressing that anybody who could receive honour from a reputable company like Hero Lager Beer must have done something great to them.
Chief Ochiogu however disclosed that he dedicated the honour to the Governor of Anambra state, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo who he said is his role model.
” I am so grateful to Professor Soludo. He is my role model and I appreciate all his ongoing transformations in the State and that is why I embraced Hero Lager to re-enact once again the system of Apprenticeship ( Igba Boi) in Igboland which by the grace of God they have started doing it. Soludo has opened my eyes on empowerment by empowing a lot of youth and adult in the State”
” So, I copied from the working Governor by initiated the apprenticeship (Igba Boi)Â scheme for the traders in Ogbaru Main Market through Hero Lager Beer”
He hinted that Ogbaru Main Market secured 50 slots from the apprenticeship program due to his transparency, truth and fare sharing during the first phase of the apprenticeship empowerment exercise which 10 persons shared #500,000 while 40 persons collected #80,000 each
He also said that the exercise was done peacefully and such impression prompted Hero Lager Beer to trust him and empowered more traders from the Market with a million Naira each.
He added that he did not initiate  the scheme to enrich himself or his executives, but for the entire traders who are lucky to be enrolled regardless of State of origin.
” I once again thank International Breweries PLC because the 50 persons are entitled to a million of Naira which could go a long way in their various endeavour. I urge them to make judicious use of the money so that they would prosper”
” I further appreciate Governor Soludo for providing his Senior Special assistant on Market, Chief Sir. Everistus Ubah to traders. Sir. Ubah is performing excellently well. Therefore, I salute Nnabuenyi and President general of Anambra State Market Amalgamated Traders Association ( ASMATA), Chief Humphrey Anuna ” Onwa Ora-eri” for their brilliant coordination of Markets in the State.
