In an effort to motivate its staff members, management of Trinitas Communications has rewarded the best performing staff for the year 2024 with huge sum of money.
It would be recalled that Trinitas Communications is a communication department of Onitsha Catholic Archdiocese which situated at Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity Onitsha, Anambra State.
The event was held at legion House, Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity Onitsha and attracted the presence of members of Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria ( CAMPAN) and Catholic Artists and Entertainers Association of Nigeria ( CAEAN) respectively.
Prior to the event, Trinitas Communications Director, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. George Adimike highlighted that the event was end of the year thanksgiving adding that it was opportunity to worship God.
He also stated that it was a way to appreciate God in a special way for His Goodness and mercy over the management and staff members of Trinitas Communications.
” Actually, there is nothing like closing year. Year doesn’t finish rather we are thanking God as we are signing off for the year so that next year we start with a new note. God has sustained us from January to December without injury or bad news. So, we have gathered to appreciate Him for what He has done for us and what He would do for us” Said Fr. George.
Announcing the best performing staff for the year, a member of Catholic Artists and Entertainers Association of Nigeria (CAEAN), Arinze Anieto said that based on the voting conducted by the staff of Trinitas Communications, Chisom Agu was selected as the best performing staff for the year 2024.
He commended Trinitas communications especially the director, Very Rev. Fr. Dr George Adimike for lifting Trinitas Newspaper to enviable height.
Speaking about the award, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. George Adimike who is equally the press Secretary to His Grace, Most Rev Valerian Maduka Okeke, the Archbishop of Onitsha Catholic Archdiocese disclosed that Chisom Agu who won the best performing staff for year would be rewarded with #100,000.
Fr. George further said that Chisom would as well be rewarded with#300,000 by Faithspiration Initiative Family coupled with individual cash promises from Trinitas Newspaper Editor, Rev. Fr. Vincent Chukwuka, Deputy director of Trinitas Communications, Rev. Fr. Samuel Nwankwo and himself.
He stated that the portrait of Chisom Agu would be displayed at Trinitas Communications common room for one year as part of further honour for his hard-working.
He said that no matter what department the winner emerged from, whether from folding section, Secretarial section or editorial section, male or female, all of them are his Children and what it means is that anybody could win the best staff for the year.
The clergy asserted that the essence of conducting the voting exercise for the best performing staff was to motivate and encourage staff members to be more committed to their duties and be hard-working.
He emphasized that if workers work hard to advance the mission of communication department of the Archdiocese, they would gain it both spiritually and materially, saying that the office would as well benefited.
Fielding questions from journalists, Fr. George commented on the economic crunch of Nigeria which he said adversely affected the production of Newspaper.
He noted that Trinitas Newspaper would remain in circulation no matter the economic situation in the country, stressing that Trinitas also has online news platform and many social media handles.
In his appreciation speech, the winner, Chisom Agu expressed gratitude to all the staff and management for selecting him as the best staff of the year, saying that he dedicated the award to his mother.
He hinted that his victory was a surprising thing to him, pledging that the award would double his efforts in discharging his duty.
The event featured drinking competition, secret Santa, Round Chair dance, comedy displayed by CAEAN member, Nebedim Nnaemeka amongst other.
