The President-General of Building Materials International Market, Ogidi, in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Chief Jude Nwankwo, has asserted that their market remains the most united and peaceful in the state.
Chief Nwankwo, a highly respected trade union leader, made the assertion during the 2024 closing year prayer held in the market.
He noted that despite the market’s large population of traders, they have continued to co-exist peacefully, united by love and understanding. He emphasized that there are no court cases or police issues among the traders.
“We speak with one voice and understand ourselves in the same way. There are millionaires and trillionaires in this market who remain committed to its welfare,” Chief Nwankwo stated.
Encouraging traders, he added: “If you don’t have money, open your heart and connect with the love in Building Materials International Market. When you are leaving, wealth, good health, and peace of mind will follow you to your family in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.”
In his remarks, Ochendo of Umuawulu, who was honored with the title of Patron by the Anambra State Market Evangelism Coordinators Committee (ANSMECCO), commended the market’s benevolent group for working together to eliminate poverty.
“It is simple because a group of people gathered and pulled their resources together to support members of the Building Materials Market, ensuring no one faces shame. Very soon, we will begin empowering people further so that wealth will spread to others. Here, we are immune to poverty,” he said.
Chief Nwankwo, who also serves as Patron of the Anambra State Market Amalgamated Traders Association (ASMATA), highlighted that God has blessed the market with wealth, adding that traders are shielded from the economic challenges currently facing the country.
Fondly known as “Jollity,” Chief Nwankwo prayed for the traders, saying, “We will stay alive to see the end of 2024 as well as the beginning and end of 2025. Nobody will be declared missing. All of us will gather here again on December 11, 2025, to rejoice. Peace, love, progress, good health, and understanding will shower upon us in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.”
Highlights of the Event
The event featured the presentation of a Patron award to Chief Nwankwo by ANSMECCO, as well as the recognition of the Best Couple of the Year in the market.
The occasion also saw the inauguration of new market Patrons, including Elder Nathan Esiobu, Eddy Brown, Ikechukwu Ezeagu, Titus Okonkwo, Lolo Edit Ndochinwa, and Ugwu Emmanuel, among others.
