The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), House of Representatives candidate for Enugu North and South Federal Constituency in the 2023 general election, Nonso Nnamani, has resigned from the party.
Nnamani who also resigned as the Enugu East Zonal Chairman of the party, said his decision was reached after a careful consideration of his personal and professional priorities.
In a letter addressed to the state Chairman of the party and made available to the press in Enugu, Nnamani thanked party members for their solidarity which resulted in his sterling performance in the 2023 general elections.
The letter reads: “I am writing to formally notify you of my decision to resign both from my position as Zonal Chairman for Enugu East and from my membership in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), effective immediately.
“This decision was reached after careful consideration of my personal and professional priorities, and I believe it aligns best with my current goals.
“I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the APGA leadership and members for the unwavering support extended to me during the 2023 election, when I had the privilege of representing the party as a House of Representatives candidate.
“Coming in second place with over 9,000 votes was a testament to the commitment and hard work of our party members, and I am truly thankful for the solidarity and encouragement I received throughout the campaign.
“Additionally, I take pride in the significant contributions I have made to strengthening the party’s structure at the state, local government, and ward levels. Serving APGA and working to advance our shared vision and values has been a fulfilling experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have collaborated with so many dedicated and inspiring individuals.
“As I step down from my role as Zonal Chairman and withdraw my membership, I respectfully request that all records be updated to reflect this change. I trust the party will process my resignation in line with its procedures, and I hope APGA will continue to grow and uphold the ideals we have worked hard to instill.
“Thank you once again for the opportunity to serve and for the support that has made my journey with APGA meaningful and impactful.”
