Former Councilor Lauds Soludo As Work Begins On Damaged Sakamori

A former councilor representing Okpoko Ward One in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon. Chukwudi Okwaraji, has expressed gratitude to Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for his magnanimity in awarding the reconstruction of the damaged Sakamori behind Ogbaru Main Market. 

The reconstruction work on the Sakamori, which was said to have been damaged several years ago, has officially commenced. The drainage system, originating from the Upper Iweka axis and connecting with Ezeiweka in Awada, Owerri Road, and passing behind the Ogbaru Main Market fence down to the Niger Bridge Head, has destroyed multiple shops in the market.

Hon. Okwaraji, popularly known as *Pele*, asserted that Governor Soludo has proven to be a listening leader by responding to the plight of Ogbaru Main Market traders. He also acknowledged the efforts of the President-General of the market, Chief Ndubuisi Ochiogu, who had made urgent appeals to all levels of government for assistance in reconstructing the drainage system.

He confirmed that several shops have been submerged by floodwaters due to the damaged Sakamori, posing a serious threat to the entire market.

“Professor Soludo has demonstrated that he is indeed a ‘Solution Governor’ for the state. I am so glad, and I commend Mr. Governor for awarding the reconstruction of the Sakamori. The market is within my constituency, precisely in my ward, and I am also one of the traders there. Soludo has shown that Chief Ndubuisi Ochiogu is truly his eyes in the market. Kudos to Professor Soludo, kudos to Chief Ndubuisi Ochiogu,” Okwaraji said.

The political heavyweight in Okpoko further praised Soludo for fulfilling his campaign promise by conducting the local government elections, in which the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) emerged victorious in all 21 local government areas of the state.

Hon. Okwaraji also lauded Chief Ndubuisi Ochiogu, whom he credited as instrumental to APGA’s victory in Ogbaru Local Government. He emphasized that Ochiogu’s physical and financial support during the election contributed significantly to APGA’s success across the area.

He further congratulated all the elected local government chairmen and councillors across the 21 local government areas of Anambra State, recently sworn in, advising them to stay focused, emulate Professor Soludo, and follow in his footsteps.
