Senator Ngwu assures constituents of massive infrastructural, human capital development

The Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District, Osita Ngwu, has reassured his constituents of his unalloyed commitment to spreading infrastructural and human capital development across all the communities in the zone.

Ngwu who is the minority whip and committee chairman on Solid Minerals made this known at Awgu Local Government Area, Enugu State during a well attended Enugu West Senatorial District Town Hall meeting.

He assured his constituents of his administration’s resolve to prioritize their welfare and make it the centerpiece of his constituency development agenda.

Ngwu also promised to build 1000 capacity JAMB CBT centers in all the five local government areas to reduce the stress of students traveling far distances to write jamb.

He said: “We’ll continue to build road infrastructure but cannot do it one day. Rome was not built in a day. We have a governor that has passion for road infrastructure and believes he will do the major one while we do our own part.

“The road infrastructure will reach every political ward as we progress. We are going to build healthcare facilities where consultants will be attached to attend to sick people and get them treated properly.

“We checked every sector and found out that education is a very vital sector and decided to invest heavily on it. We have thought of grooming people from childhood,

“We gave scholarships worth N81 million to 19 undergraduate and one post graduate students. kit every school children initiative have commenced and it will go round every primary and secondary school in Enugu West Senatorial district with uniform and school bag to make study easy for them. Building of jamb centers and CBT offices will start immediately.

“The training has commenced and the CBT center will be built in all the local government areas to help our school children. Our next scholarship will be picked from those that participated in the jamb training in our center. We have set up a committee that will oversee the proper training of jamb bite,” he said.

On state creation, Ngwu said, “one thing I can assure you is that if the state creation comes, we will protect your interest so that we won’t regret it when it’s created. We will make consultation and engage with you to know your mind on it before putting pen on it.

“We submitted forms for constitution amendment and any thing you think will affect us later, put it down and submit it to our office. I have the privilege to represent you, so what you say determines what I do,” he said.

He subsequently vowed to take the issue of Persons Living with Disability (PWDs), very seriously to allow them get every attention needed to make sure they are not left behind.
