Breaking: Court Nullifies Edo PDP Governorship Primary

The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Inyang Ekwo, has invalidated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary held on February 22, 2024.

The primary had declared Asue Ighodalo as the PDP’s candidate for the upcoming Edo State governorship election.

The judgment came in response to a lawsuit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/165/2024, filed by Kelvin Mohammed and other aggrieved delegates.

Justice Ekwo ruled that the primary election was invalid due to the unlawful exclusion of 378 delegates who were entitled to vote.

The judge’s decision was based on the violation of the delegates’ rights, rendering the primary election and its outcome null and void.
