NPFL: Rangers held to goalless draw by visiting Kwara United

Visiting Kwara United of Ilorin, on Sunday held Rangers Int’l. FC of Enugu to a goalless draw in the week 24 of the 2023/2024 Nigeria professional football League NPFL, played at Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium Enugu.

With the result, Rangers now occupy 4th position with 41 points in the  NPFL log, while the visiting side are in 17th position with 26 points.

The Afonja boys took firm control of the 90 minutes encounter, making it extremely difficult for the Rangers team to hit the opponent’s back of the net.

Speaking with Sports Journalists at the end of the 90 minutes game, Kwara United Chief Coach, Tunde Sani expressed joy over the outcome of the game.

He assured its fans that despite their current position the club will survive  relegation, adding that they had come to pick a point in Enugu.

Sani described the Rangers team as a good side. Stressing that he would do everything technically possible to address the issue of playing draws in their home game. 

In his brief interview, Rangers Technical Adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu said the outcome of the match is “very very sad” blaming the result on players fatigue. 

“Though, this is football, and anything can happen during matches” saying they will go back to the drawing board and return to winning ways.
