The Iyiowa Odekpe Landlords Association in Ogbaru LGA, Anambra State, celebrated its end-year meeting, during which they honoured an influential member and one of the association executives, Mrs. Chidimma Anekwe, on her birthday.
Mrs. Anekwe, who is one of the key benefactors in the area, was celebrated for using her resources to ensure the betterment of landlords and the community at large.
The birthday anniversary reception, which was simultaneously used to celebrate end-of-year meetings by the landlords, attracted virtually the presence of landlords and tenants within and outside the community.
It was held at the residence of one of the landlords behind Creative International School, Iyiowa Odekpe, and featured a talk on the rules of driving, which was delivered by one of the landlords and a Corp Marshal, Sir. Kingsley Uwakwe.
Delivering his talk, Sir. Uwakwe noted that overspeeding and dangerous overtaking kill, pointing out that a good driver should be mindful of road signs and abstain from driving on both sides of the main road.
He further listed the following, which according to him should be observed before driving: consult God through prayers if you are sick; don’t drive; don’t drink while driving; concentrate on your journey; be focused; and desist from driving with expired tyres.
Presenting the gift on behalf of the association, Mr. Godwin Okolo said that Mrs. Anekwe deserves to be honoured due to her contribution to the growth of the association.
He also said that the gift was to encourage her to continue doing good for humanity.
Also speaking, the leader of the association, Mr. Sunday Obinze, lauded the association members for their solidarity and support towards the birthday anniversary, noting that Mrs. Anekwe’s birthday was an opportunity to commend her for her generosity.
Ogwuego of Nando, as he is fondly called, further described Mrs. Anekwe as one of the pillars of the association and the community in general.
Equally speaking, one of the prominent stakeholders and members of the association, Hon. Dame Chinyere Mbakwe, testified that Mrs. Anekwe is a social woman.
Mbakwe, a former aide to the immediate past Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, affirmed that the event went successfully and people ate and drank to their satisfaction.
Similarly, Mr. Ifeanyi Okagbue, who is also a landlord, testified that Mrs. Anekwe is a prominent landlord, saying that her character is superb.
Appreciating her guests, the celebrant, Mrs. Chidimma Anekwe, poured accolades on the members of the Landlords Association for their unalloyed support.
She stated that the honour and gift from the Landlords Association could be her contributions and support for them and the Iyiowa Odekpe Community.
Mrs. Anekwe, who was shading tears of joy, continued saying, “I am so happy for your gift and solidarity. I pray that God will reward you abundantly. I also pray for peace and progress in Iyiowa Odekpe. May God grant me a long life and prosperity. May He protect me from the hands of my enemies.”I prayed, Mrs. Anekwe.
