The Parish Priest in charge of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in-land Town Onitsha , Anambra State, Very Rev. Fr. Johnbosco Okafor has described the Archbishop of Onitsha and Metropolitan of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, His Grace, Most Rev. Valerian Maduka Okeke as a prophetic Archbishop.
Fr. Johnbosco Okafor who doubles as the Vicar General of Onitsha Catholic Archdiocese added that Archbishop Okeke is a man of finest quality, stating that people of God should do themselves good and listen to the words of God through Archbishop Okeke who he said is a true Chief Shepherd, a compassionate father and the great Archbishop of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province.
The cleric made the assertion during the pastoral visit in his Parish where over 500 parishioners were administered with the sacrament of confirmation by Archbishop Okeke.
He further disclosed that both the priests and parishioners in his Parish were overwhelmed with welcoming the Archbishop, saying that though the Bishop had been visiting their parish, this visit was unique due to the blessings of his 70th birthday.
He also praised messages from the Archbishop Okeke’s homily which he said he aligned with him as the same message to his parishioners in this period of Advent.
” Archbishop Okeke has said it all. We should be awake, watchful and be careful with the life we live so that we will not be taken by surprise for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. So, it is a message of great expectations and everybody should be at alert every moment”
Meanwhile, Archbishop Okeke had in his sermon during the Pastoral visit explained advent as a period when people of God are preparing for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, urging them not to allow themselves to be consumed by the earthly things.
The prelate also advised the people to be ready to receive Jesus Christ by making sure that their ways are straight and clear so that they would be in the right position to welcome Jesus Christ who he said will come unexpectedly.
