
The immediate past Deputy Comptroller of Nigerian Immigration Services, Dr. Dominic Asogwa, has urged officers and men of the services to provide Nigerians and foreigners alike with better service delivery that would be in accordance with international best practices.
Dr. Asogwa who spoke during his disengagement from service, thanked his colleagues for the support they provided him which enhanced his professional growth while in the Service.8
He said all his successes would not have been possible without their unwavering support and dedication of the entire team of Nigerian Immigration Services.
The DCGI appealed to the officers and men of the services to give the needed support, cooperation and collaboration to the Acting Comptroller General of Immigration, Mrs. Caroline Wurola Adepoju for a better Service.
Lauding the unwavering commitment to duty, sacrifice and dedication to the Service, he said “your hardwork and professionalism formed the backbone of our organization,and I am confident that you will continue to excel in your endeavors as we overcome future challenges together”.
Asogwa outlined his achievements while in the service to include participation in the review of the 1963 Immigration Act which was presented to the National Assembly which passed it into law and assented to by the president.
He was at the helm in the United Nations Mission for reforming and restructuring of the Liberian Immigration Services, which earned him a UN merit award in addition to spearheading a ten year strategic plan for BIN.
Asogwa said he made notable contributions in capacity building and infrastructural development in strategic commands in Enugu, Umuona, Orlu training school in Imo State,Seme Border, Migration Management and Zone C, Benin City among others.
Meanwhile, the Catholic Bishop of Nsukka, Most Rev, Prof Godfrey Onah,will on Dec.30, 2023, preside over thanksgiving retirement Mass of DCGI Asogwa.
The event, according to the Organising Committee, will take place at St Theresa’s Catholic Church, Ama-Enu, Ugwu/Agbo, Edem, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State.
