Mr Taiwo Gabriel, the Commander, Man O’ War Nigeria, Enugu State Command, a para military organisation, has urged youths in the country to imbibe discipline and hard work as future leaders.
Gabriel said this in Nsukka on Tuesday during the investiture of three personalities as patrons for Eagle Unit Nsukka Area Command of Man O’ War.
He said that youths should not allow negative influences in the society to mar their future but should always remember that ‘no cross no crown’.
The state commander explained that, the aim of the organisation was to instill discipline, hardwork good values as well as ensure physical and mental fitness.
“Discipline, good values and mental fitness will go a long way in helping youths to achieved their dreams in future as well as being patriotic to their country.
“It is better to catch them young because as para military organisation like Man O’ War, we mould their character that will prevent them from committing crimes and immorality
“Our mission is to positively direct human mindset towards rendering selfless community services to our country,” he said.
He said the that, those being installed today as patrons was because of their outstanding contributions in ensuring peace, unity, discipline, progress as well as selfless services to humanity in their various fields of life.
According to the commander, the organisation was committed towards ensuring that citizens live in peace, harmony and mutual respect that would accelerate the socio-political and economic well-being of the country.
In a remark, Mr. Kingsley Obiorah the Acting Unit Leader Man O’ War Nigeria, Eagle Unit, Nsukka Area Command, expressed appreciation to the state commander and his team for coming to witness the event.
Obiorah said that the patrons Prof Charles Asadu, Lecturer at University of Nigeria Nsukka, Mr Amachi Ezeugu, a retired US Marine Officer and Chief Chijoke Obayi a business tycoon were chosen because of their outstanding contributions to the society.
“The three patrons of the unit command are selected based on their outstanding contributions to humanity and their vaifiable good track records.
“We believe that Asadu, Ezeugwu and Obayi being our patrons, more good things will come to the organisation in all ramifications,” he said .
He expressed special gratitude to Dr Patricia Nnamani, the Acting Assistant State Commander Medics for her unquantifiable efforts and contributions to ensure that the unit remains strong and vibrant.
“The unit will remain grateful to Nnamani who is strong member of Nsukka Eagle Unit, whose efforts, financial assistance and commitment make today’s event a huge success, may God reward her abundantly,”he said.
The unit leader said that, the unit was dire need of a military set of band and a bus or siena vehicle to help the unit in its logistics and operations.
Obiorah said that Man O War as para military organisation would continue to assist law enforcement agencies in the country in maintaining law and order.
“We will continue to assist security agencies in maintaining law and order as well as provide training for the development of good leadership for public benefits.
“This can be achieved by calculating self-discipline and selfless community services in citizens of the country,”he said.
Responding in their separate remarks, Asadu, Ezeugu and Obayi said they were humbled and overwhelmed for the para military organisation to find them worthy to be their patrons.
They pledged that, they would do everything within their capacities to assist as well as move the Nsukka unit of Man O War to greater height.
