The Anambra State Police Commissioner, Aderemi Adeoye on behalf of Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, yesterday decorated 288 Inspectors serving in the state command to their new rank of Assistant superintendent of Police (ASP ll).
In a statement which signed by the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), Anambra State, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, he said that the decorations is sequel to approval by the Police Service Commission for the promotion of Police Officers on the recommendation of the Inspection-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun
He further stated that the CP Adeoye during the decoration ceremony congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to rededicate themselves to duty and reciprocate the recognition by putting more effort into protecting the citizenry and securing the state.
DSP Ikenga noted that the CP Adeoye equally thanked the IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun PhD, NPM for making welfare of the personnel a top priority on his agenda and assured Ndi-Anambra that the command under his watch will continue to serve and protect the citizens with integrity.
The State Police image maker added that CP Adeoye stated that it was symbolic that on his 33rd day in office as the 33rd Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command fate has thrusted the responsibility on him to decorate the 288 newly promoted Officers.
